WINTER WHEAT CROP DAMAGED
(CULROSS TWP, ON) – Dec. 23, at 1:06 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of crop damage in a field at the intersection of Huron-Bruce Road and Sideroad 5A in Culross Township.
Officers noted ruts in the field similar to what would be left by a pick-up truck and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV). A crop of winter wheat was planted and has been lost where the vehicles travelled. Using someone else’s property without permission is an offence called trespassing. In addition, destruction of property is a criminal offence called mischief that carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison. There is no estimated value for the crop damage at this time.
CALLER HELPS POLICE COLLAR IMPAIRED DRIVER
(LUCKNOW, ON) – Dec. 23, at 4:06 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a possible impaired driver operating a blue Dodge Durango.
The vehicle was located and stopped on Hamilton Street in Lucknow. The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. Forty-six-year-old Don HOWLETT of Lucknow has been charged with impaired driving, operate over 80 milligrams, drive while disqualified and breach probation. He was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing Dec. 24.
