Westario should provide best service for its customers, says reader
To the Editor:
RE: “Lobby Kincardine council for buried hydro lines, says Westario rep”
Westario Power’s response that it meets the standards and anything extra has to be paid by the customer, is a cop-out.
Do you want to provide the best service or just average?
The recent snowstorms in Manitoba have shown the deficiencies in overhead lines.
You do admit that burying lines is the better option so why not work to that goal.? It may take years or decades to get there but it will improve service.
You also say that burying lines is twice the cost.
What is the average cost of replacing a kilometre of overhead line and the average cost of putting that line underground? Two times $100,000 is probably within your company's reach whereas two times $1-million would be unreasonable.
