Municipality should provide crossing guard at KDSS, says reader

To the Editor:
RE: “Kincardine council turns down request for crossing guard at KDSS”

This is not an issue that should even be argued about! Quit fighting about it.

Student safety—“Grades 7 and 8 students are old enough that they don’t need a crossing guard” is, in my opinion, the most stupid remark I read in this article.

Public safety is most important. We have crosswalks and crossing guards to protect people against drivers who can make irrational decisions and let the pedestrians cross safely!

Get your act together, Kincardine, and at least get a crossing guard in there two times a day - $11,000 is a lot cheaper than a life.

By the way, I don’t have students at this school anymore. I just care about the ones that are there!
