The third annual Golf for Kids' Sake saw 95 golfers participate, raising more than $8,500 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kincardine and District. All the money stays within the community and is used for local children's mentoring programs.
The courses involved in the tournament were Ainsdale Golf Course south of Kincardine, Somerhill Golf Club south of Tiverton, Wingham Golf Club, Sunset Golf Course in Goderich, Piper’s Glen Golf Club in Port Elgin, Blackhorse Golf and Country Club in Kinloss, and Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.
Ryan Enright accepted the bus challenge trophy as Captain of Bus C (North Route) which had the best average score of the three routes of 7.5 under par.
Winner of the best golfers of the day, with a score of 15-under-par was the team of Jon Thompson, Blair Chaput, Mike Harper and Matt Ropp.
Winner of the Kincardine Home Hardware ‘Closest to the Pin’ was Don Martyn with 36 inches from the pin.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kincardine and District appreciates ALL the golfers, business sponsors, golf courses and volunteers who participated in this event.
