Jumpstart donates activity kit to Huron-Kinloss for Wolf Club Adventure Camp

The Canadian Tire Jumpstart Foundation has donated a kids’ activity kit to the Township of Huron-Kinloss for its Wolf Cub Adventure Camp this summer.

The activity kit contains three bocce ball sets, two badminton/volleyball sets, two portable basketball nets, basketballs, volleyballs, Frisbees, footballs, bean bags, skipping ropes, balls, and much more.

The community services department hopes this equipment will be used by all the youth in the community, says director Mike Fair. To ensure that all kids have access to the equipment, the department will be implementing an equipment loaning program for the summer.

Youth can “borrow” a piece of sports equipment by leaving a $10 deposit at the arena office, when the the equipment is returned at the end of the day, the deposit will be returned.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart believes that no child should be left on the sidelines but in Canada one in three families cannot afford to enroll their kids in organized sports. That’s almost 750,000 kids every year who want to play, but just can’t.

Jumpstart aims to change that! If you would like more information about the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program, contact the Huron-Kinloss community services department at 519-395-2909 or recreation@huronkinloss.com. Together we can help children in our community get off the sidelines!
