Readers wade in on issue of monitoring Kincardine beaches

RE: “Resident wants beaches patrolled on holiday weekend”
I agree with Shirley Wright.
If we believe what the news says, there is a lot of money being made available to municipalities to cope with the extra demands of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic. Why not use some of it on bylaw officers?
I went “near” the beach this past weekend, took one look at the crowds, the lack of any meaningful distancing and went back home.
Where do all these people come from? Why are they allowing campers at Station Beach, Kincardine, like it was the fish derby?
It seems as if everyone but the locals can enjoy the beautiful waterfront here.

To the Editor:
If Kincardine council approves having the beach open on a holiday weekend or any other day, it should be responsible for making sure rules, with respect to COVID-19, are being strictly followed.
Kincardine has had two, possibly three, new cases when everything has been stable for a while.
Maybe it's because we have opened up more, and that's okay, but we need somebody checking that rules are being followed before we have to close down again which NOBODY wants!
