POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN PAINT-LINE STRIPERS
(WALKERTON, ON) – June 24, at 12:08 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break, enter and theft at the Brockton public works shed located along Wallace Street in Walkerton.
Sometime between 6 p.m. June 18, and 9 a.m. June 22, the shed was forcibly entered and two paint-line stripers were taken.

Orange line striper with three-horsepower Briggs and Stratton engine
The value of the stolen equipment is estimated to be more than $5,000. Serial numbers are on file with police.
OVERNIGHT ATV THEFT
(BRANT TWP, ON) – June 24, at 7:22, a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft from a residence along Maple Hill Road in Brant Township.
Sometime between 2-7:20 a.m. June 24, a detached garage was forcibly entered and a green 2006 Honda TRX All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with a 2,500-pound winch was taken. The licence plate number is 81LA9 and the serial number is on file with police.
Three red 20-litre gas cans, two red five-litre gas cans and a red/black 3/8” Snap on impact gun were also taken. There is no estimate on the dollar value of the stolen property at this time.
COMPUTER REPAIR SCAM NETS $815
(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The South Bruce OPP is reminding residents to be wary of scams, after the report of a successful scam from a resident in the Municipality of Kincardine. An unsolicited phone call was received to report a problem with the computer and the “repairs” cost $815.
Police are asking all residents to be cautious of unsolicited calls, letters, E-mails, and strangers at the door. Tech-savvy scammers can create very convincing scams and your best defence is to verify before you ever consider sending money or sharing personal information.
Fraud is a multi-million-dollar enterprise that will only stop when the cons stop making money. Anyone interested in more information on fraud can contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or check on-line at http://www.antifraudcentre.ca/.
