(KINCARDINE, ON) – June 27, at 9:05 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received information about an alleged explosive device that had been placed on WestJet Flight 391, traveling from Halifax to Edmonton.
The plane was diverted to Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport where 147 passengers and crew were removed from the aircraft without incident. Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Explosives Device Unit were activated to assist with the investigation.
Members from the South Bruce OPP, under the direction of detective inspector Heidi Stewart of the Criminal Investigation Branch, continue to investigate the origin of the call to determine the credibility of the threat.
