Kincardine parks require repairs not re-imagining, says reader
To the Editor:
RE: “Concept for Victoria Park, Kincardine, to be unveiled at open house, Oct. 1”
I am of the opinion that Kincardine parks do not require re-imagining. They fit the needs today based on money available. However repairs are required for broken items.
Influencers by out-of-municipality people, belong out of municipality.
Non-partisan independent consultants, with resumes that indicate otherwise, should not be selected and paid to direct council.
Lastly, issues such as inclusion, diversity, and other subjects with apparent popular descriptive terms, would be better served if not continually brought to the fore and made to be confrontational.
It is time to assess the true effect in our town and address on an individual needs-be basis. If not continually at the fore, they may be less of a divider among the community.
Items for budget consideration, among others, are: the foot bridge needs to be addressed and re-opened, and day visitors to our waterfront need parking fees to help taxpayers maintain the beachfront.
With all due respect,
